The Learning School, Kot Radha Kishen 

The Learning School is the first project of the Kot Radha Kishen Development Trust (KDT) that epitomizes the vision and spirit of the trust for provision of quality education in less-developed areas of Pakistan . Within a short span of time a group of dedicated citizens realized this dream by mobilizing the local resources worth 10 million rupees. Today The Learning School is a living reality and is catering the educational quest of hundreds of students on non-profit basis without compromising the quality.

It is once again nice for me to say you hello as after several days we are again in touch with each other.

Quaid’s View about Education in Pakistan 

The founder of Pakistan Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in 1947 highlighting the significance of education had said: “…the importance of education and the type of education cannot be over-emphasized…there is no doubt that the future of our State will and must greatly depend upon the type of education we give to our children, and the way in which we bring them up as future citizens of Pakistan… we should not forget that we have to compete with the world which is moving very fast in this direction.” The article 37 of the Constitution of Pakistan also says that the State shall; (a)          promote; with special care, the educational and economic interests of backward classes or areas; (b)          remove illiteracy and provide free and compulsory secondary education within minimum possible period. Despite these loud and clear messages we have failed to offer good quality education at affordable price to every child in the country. Especially our rural population remains at the ignored end. Leaving the majority at mercy of circumstances is not prudent when education is the key factor that determines the direction of a nation and the educated citizens help shape the future. The

School established by Kot Radha Kishen Development Trust conveys two messages. First; the citizens’ if inspired can do it on their own and the second: with modest efforts vibrant communities can bridge the gap instead of only looking towards the government for charity. The Kot Radha Kishen Development Trust has internalized these messages and today the

School exists to impart quality education in less developed area inhabited by poor and middle class. As a private not for profit educational institution it offers modern knowledge and skills in best learning environment at affordable price by utilizing the services of trained and committed teachers. Besides its involving academic environment the school is inculcating values of peace, tolerance and democracy through its extra curricular activities. Some of these activities involve the community as well. Time will tell that it was a wise investment in a dream for the better future of
Pakistan and for a vibrant and prosperous nation. We invite caring citizens’ to be part of this extremely important work by donating to help educate those who will be our future.
